

In New Zealand the traditional Māori fishhook is considered taonga, sacred - a revered symbol of life source and strength, reflecting our respectful connection to this land and the water that surrounds it.

Founder and owner of te Pā, Haysley MacDonald traces his ancestry back to the early Māori settlers who landed on Wairau Bar 800 years ago. He whakapapas to ancestors who have worked this land for generations.
WINES
Te Pa Pinot Gris
This wine has attractive aromatics of jasmine, poached pear, vanilla and spice. The palate displays nashi pear, green nectarine and ripe citrus, with some lingering aniseed and spice. The purity of the fruit combined with the weight and texture from the barrel components resulted in a balanced wine at a low RS.
Te Pa Sauvignon Blanc
This wine delivers aromatics of nectarine, lime, florals and hints of toasted spice. The palate is concentrated and precise, with citrus, black currant, fresh herbs and grilled pineapple flavours. This wine possesses crisp. refreshing acidity and a touch of chalky minerality. A great match with all seafood, particularly shellfish. The crisp flavours work well with fresh summer salads or soft goat cheese
Te Pa Chardonnay
This ripe and attractive Chardonnay has bright aromatics of stone fruit, florals and toasted nuts. It has a generous palate with some mealy complexity and textural characteristics. Notes of nectarine and almonds supported by gentle oak spice. Hints of citrus, balanced acidity, and a fine phenolic profile keeps this Chardonnay refreshing on the palate. Some flint and smoky oak notes adding further intrigue as the wine builds in the glass. Produced in limited volumes.
Te Pa Pinot Noir
It possesses complex aromatics, with sweet ripe fruits, savoury earthy notes, and stem and oak spice. The palate displays plums and dark cherries alongside brambly berry fruit, anise and cinnamon spice. The fruit is encased in supple tannins, ensuring this wine will age gracefully for years to come.
