The origin of our cellar is lost in time: Baudana is the name of the family, but it is also the name of the vineyard and of the hamlet of Serralunga d’Alba, where we are located.

“These are some of the most impressive wines I have tasted from Luigi Baudana, the Serralunga estate the Vajra family has managed since 2009. [...] All three Barolos are exceptional, from the village wine to the two crus.“

“The Vaira family has turned out a magnificent set of Barolos at both their own winery and at Baudana. (...) At Baudana, the wines are naturally more muscular, but that is Serralunga, after all. Most importantly, the Vairas have developed a personal style that melds classicisim with a level of approachability that makes these wines so alluring, even upon release.“
WINES
Luigi Buadana Barolo Baudana

Baudana: a gem hidden among the historic crus of Serralunga.
The Barolo DOCG Baudana bears the name of the family; it is a prestigious Cru, rather uniquely, the soil here is a mix of both Formazioni di Lequio and Sant’Agata fossil marls that show a peculiar bluish tone.

Luigi Baudana Cerreta Barolo

Barolo Cerretta comes from Nebbiolo grapes harvested from the vineyards of the same name located in Serralunga. The bunches come from vineyards composed of different biotypes of Nebbiolo, and represent an incredible legacy of Luigi's work.

Luigi Baudana Barolo Del Comune di Serralunga D’ Alba

The Voice of the Land.
These Nebbiolo vineyards are located in Serralunga with different soil composition and structure. An average altitude of 340m above the sea and 20-30 years old vines complete the identity of this wine

Luigi Baudana Dragon

The Dragon, symbol of courage, was the last drawing by Gianni Gallo. His wish for the Vaira Family’s new adventure. A wine originating from a field blend of white varieties mostly planted side by side, harvested and vinified together
