VGW

VGW stands for “very good white,” and it’s 00 Wines calling card. Comprising four vineyards and three Dijon Chardonnay clones, it’s wonderfully balanced—rich yet bright, lush yet tense, showing both structure and texture. A blend of four vineyards and three Dijon clones, VGW manages to be many things at the same time: rich, but bright; lush, but with tension; structured, and textural. This is the winery’s calling card and largest production cuvée.

00 EGW

The EGW (Extra Good White) showcases the complexity and aromatic depth of old-vine Willamette Valley Chardonnay. A barrel selection of four vineyards, it contains Dijon, Wente 72, and Wente 108 clones, delivering more richness than the VGW, while preserving its lively acidity. As a barrel selection of four vineyards, the EGW is based on a mix of both Dijon clones (like the VGW), and Wente 72 and 108 heritage clones. The wine is certainly more rich on the palate, without sacrificing the wonderful acidity of the VGW. ORGANIC

a homage to 00 Wines founder Chris Hermann’s mother, Freya … This thrilling Chardonnay slowly unwinds to release a stunning array of aromas that emerge beautifully from this glass, led by ripe white peach, asian pear, lemon oil, toasted hazelnut, flint and crushed stones, which are impossible to resist. The palate is simply striking, beautifully balanced, precise and focused, with layers of delicious fresh orchard fruit flavors that are framed by gorgeous minerality resonating throughout. This is an utterly captivating bottle of Chardonnay that is nothing short of mesmerizing today, but should also continue to evolve beautifully over the course of the next decade.”

00 Wine Kathryn Hermann Cuvée

Produced from the organically farmed Ryan’s Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District, this blend of Sauvignon Musque and Sauvignon Blanc is truly a site-driven wine. An ever-evolving nose of carnations, pink lemon, and candied lychee share the glass with more savory notes of chive flower and brackish sea breeze. Taut and energized, the midpalate is briny and finishes with precision.

00 Wines VGR

“VGR” Stands for Very Good Red. Grape clusters are destemmed by hand at the pedicel, leaving the berry intact whole berries are placed in 500L terra cotta amphorae imported from Tuscany, where they spontaneously ferment from the inside out with indigenous yeast. After primary fermentation, the juice is pressed off into French oak barrels and stays there for 8 months. Only 10% new French oak. Mild growing season in the Willamette Valley a very classic vintage.

00 Wines Richard Hermann Cuvee

… quite Meursault-like in personality in its early guise, delivering an aromatic constellation of pear, passion fruit, iodine, geranium-like floral tones, a beautiful base of chalky soil, incipient notes of the buttered nuttiness to come and a lovely foundation of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and shows off gorgeous mid-palate depth, with great precision and balance, zesty acids and a long, complex and very, very classy finish …. This is a stunning bottle of young chardonnay. Do not give into temptation and drink it too early in its evolution, as it has stunning potential!

00 Wines Hyland

This savory Double Zero wine was sourced from the oldest Hyland block, planted in 1972. Whole berries were fermented in a terracotta clay amphora and then aged 16 months in 20% new French oak barrels. Aromatic with sharp notes of cranberry, strawberry and raspberry, the fruit is underscored with a dry minerality and a touch of lemon.
