The farm is named after the picturesque town of Blois in the Loire where the Bruwer’s came from. Owner Ernst Bruwer took over from his Grandfather Ernst Bruwer Snr. He believed in sustainable farming and that older vineyards should be cared for.

VINOS+2.jpg

The history of Mont Blois Wine Estate and the Bruwer Family begins in 1869 when the first farm was bought. Six generations later, Ernst Bruwer now manages our 3 farms in Robertson namely Mont Blois, La Fontaine and Sunshine. The Mont Blois Wynlandgoed cellar was built in 1884.

WINES

Mont Blois Keller Colombard

This very interesting Colombard were nearly six months
in 3rd filled small barrels. The idea to ferment Colombard in a small barrel came from the owner Ernst Bruwer. The specific vineyard is right next to the cellar and was planted in the early 1970’s. From there the name “Keller” Colombard. This product developed in a tropical fruit driven wine with a hint of vanilla and pineapple characters and a slight wooded aroma. The acidity in the wine ensures a good balance with a beautiful and long-lasting pallet. This wine can age for another few years. Only 3 Barrels of this excellent wine is available.

Mont Blois Bacchus

Complex nose of cassis, tobacco, red cherries and a herbaceous freshness. Violets, black cherry, chocolate and a sweet cassis notes follow through onto the palate with luscious oak spice too. Really generous, rich and smooth. Elegant, classic, delicious wine.
